I wanted to let you know that my Granddaughter has made a choice. She
asked her Dad to sign her up for Soccer this next year. When he gets to it,
she will be in the Local Youth Soccer League.
Bunch Ball time with one to be five this next month. She made the request and was told, ‘Make sure this is what you want for this next year and we will talk about it later!’ Well later came, and the answer was still “YES!”
My first grandson is not interested at this time he is all wrapped up in science projects. Moving on to the 1st grade.
However, my second grandson, is all sports. Loves to play, get this, ‘Street Soccer’ in the court they live on with the boys.
My son has your books and loves your Nine Step Practice Routine. And of course, as you know, has been there before. Now that I am convinced that he is not going to push at all, we will see how she likes it. If she drops out so be it, if she continues then she will be playing for fun and any coach that pushes for more than that will have to answer to more than her father J She does have ability but WILL NOT BE PUSHED.
Remember the story of why my son left soccer when he was pushed. I know now that he remembers all too well and won't let it happen to her. She is going to enjoy FUN as a child.
Oh, please find a way to get it out the parents that their children have only One Childhood. For 13 years, I saw so much of what is talked about and have seen my own family now as the next generation was pushed not by family but by coaches.
Please don't let our coaches take the fun out of the game. Kids Love the Game and it is wonderful for them. If THEY later on want to move on and up in the game than that MUST be their own choice. I know why my son said NO WORD about soccer until she asks on her own and l know he was so right.
Every coach should always keep it in their hearts on their end, FUN, FUN, FUN, it is a game and great for all kids in this world.
