Youth Soccer
"GOALS"

By Central California Heat

PLAYER GOALS: The goal of each youth soccer player should be to become the best soccer player that she possibly can, and to have as much fun as possible. To accomplish this she needs to be willing to listen to the youth soccer coach at all times, follow team rules, and give her maximum effort at practice as well as in games. She also needs to represent CCH in a positive manner by exhibiting proper sportsmanship toward coaches, teammates, opponents, officials, and parents. Playing goals should be to improve their dribbling, controlling, passing, shooting, defending, and communication skills, and to have a better awareness of the game by the time the season is over.

PARENT GOALS: The goals of the youth soccer parents are to support the development of their daughters, and to make sure that their daughters are able to accomplish their goals. Parents can accomplish this by making sure that their daughters arrive at practice and games on time and be there to provide positive encouragement at games and practice. Children look to their parents for leadership so parents should also strive to be positive role models on the sideline by exhibiting proper sportsmanship toward youth soccer coaches, opponents, other parents, and most importantly, officials. It is also very important that parents do not associate success with wins, but with development and improvement.

TEAM GOALS: The goals of the youth soccer team are to become one cohesive unit, to improve our play as a team with each game, for each youth soccer player's development to match her expectations, and to have FUN! We will try to accomplish the team building by engaging in off the field activities at tournaments and here in town. You will notice that winning is not mentioned in the team goals, as that is not what we are here to accomplish. With improved team play, youth soccer player development, and playing with enjoyment the winning will come so the focus must stay on the stated goals and not on game results.
