Youth Soccer
"A Letter to Andrea"

By Hervi Rualo

Andrea,

Congratulations for making the top 18 players in your State ODP team. I have a feeling that you will grab this opportunity and show everyone at Regional Camp the soccer player that you're destined to be.

Play with confidence and whenever you're tense or nervous before a soccer game, remember Soccer is just a game. I know you've heard it before but think about it, win or lose, just like what I told you youth soccer players at ODP tryouts, your parents and real true friends will still love you.

This might sound crazy to you but before every soccer game I use to play, I look up and let the blue sky clear my mind off everything but the game. Then I look down and look at all my teammates around me and all the fans and parents at the sidelines and think of how lucky I am that God allowed me the opportunity to be on the field playing a game that I love. Then I look for a familiar face, like my dad who never missed any of my soccer games or someone in the team that I'm good friends with and then I just want to play and have "FUN." Try it! It worked for me!

Keep on Kicking !!!! Good Luck !!!!

Hervi Rualo
