Hi,
I am usually the registrar for Leavenworth Twisters, but am
currently deployed in Bosnia. My husband has taken over temporarily as
their registrar.
Would you please forward the following appeal for soccer
equipment to teams/leagues in Kansas.
I am working with refugee camp, school and orphanage in the
local area. These kids love soccer, but have nothing. These guys play any
place that isn't land mined. (There are still a lot of mines in this country.
5 kids have been killed in the 2 weeks that I've been here.) Basic
living needs are barely covered let alone anything extra. Usually,
there is only one ball in the whole community. The picture above is
of a makeshift goal that these kids use.
If any of the teams/leagues are getting rid of old useable
equipment/uniforms/balls or would like to donate new items. I'll make
sure the kids get them. There are alot of kids with nothing in this
country. Unemployment rate here is 80%, the war left the country
destitute. Anything would be appreciated.
