By Bob Karpovich Now that I've participated in a teleseminar with you I've started to pay attention to what coaches are doing and watching the reaction of the players. My daughter is taking a player development course indoors now. There are indoor games being played on the other surfaces at the same time. This past Saturday I watched 4 indoor games. Out of the 4 games only one coach constantly yelled out instructions to his players. I must say that his team won the game I watched and from what I could tell won the award for winning the most games. However, I'm not sure if his players were having as much fun as the other teams. Sure his team made less mistakes because he was correcting them constantly, however I think the players from the other teams will advance faster because they were making their own decisions. I could also tell from the body language of the players that they did not like some of the instructions (corrections by name) that were being made. One thing the coaching courses and your books have taught me is to pay attention to what is going on around me with all the player and coaches. Observation is a great teacher.
