I Actually Feel Like A "Real Coach"
From Coach David Rice:
Koach Karl,
Now that our season has come to a close, we had our final game last Saturday, a 5-1 victory that capped off a 6-3-1 season, I wanted to take a couple of minutes to express my sincere thanks to you for your suggestions, insights, encouragement, and patience in helping me and our team through this season. As a result of your help and '9-Step Practice Routine', all of us had a great time, a successful season and we actually learned some soccer! I am also confident that we, and I do mean we, have developed a 'crop' of young players that are eager to continue playing the game.
I also would like to thank Coach Anagnost for his extremely helpful suggestions, perspective and encouragement. I would like him to know that I have incorporated ALL of his suggestions into my practices (no negative points, shortening the figure 8s, expanding and ALWAYS including the 1 on 1 games, using small-sided 2 on 2 and 4 on 2 games, and of course, 'lightening up'). His suggestions have definitely helped to improve our practice sessions, making them more of a learning experience and enjoyable to all.
Because of the success of this season: the enthusiasm of the girls, the fun that we all had, my personal development as a coach, the improvements in the girls' play over the course of the season, and of course the win/loss column, you have indeed created yet another believer in and proponent of the FUNdamental System. I actually feel like a 'real coach' instead of an impostor!
Koach Karl, I am really looking forward to taking a course from you next year.
Thanks again.
Your friend,
Coach Dave Rice
